Ahead of Hartlepool United's clash with Leyton Orient this Saturday, Pools boss Craig Harrison will assess the fitness of young striker Connor Simpson after he was forced to sit out Tuesday's 0-0 draw at Wrexham with a knee problem.

Louis Laing was able to return to action after a hamstring injury and will be part of the travelling squad once again, while Scott Harrison (foot) and Blair Adams (groin) are closing in on fitness.

Luke George continues to receive treatment on his hamstring injury but is making progress, while Jake Cassidy is out for at least another six weeks with a stress fracture in his foot.

Orient boss Steve Davis is waiting on the fitness of defensive duo Josh Coulson and George Elokobi who both missed Tuesday night's defeat to FC Halifax Town after picking up injuries against Boreham Wood on Saturday.

Club Captain Charlie Lee is in the treatment room long-term for The O's after undergoing surgery on his knee earlier this week.
